HARPY
Harpies are bird creatures with a strong connection to wind and weather.
[example species: all birds, including flightless birds]
✧ MANDATORY ✧
✦ Feeding: Flesh.
✦ Bird wings that are flight-capable, either on the back or arms.
✦ Bird talons in place of feet, and talon-like claws on the hands.
✦ Feathery hair, whether that's hair with feather accents or texture, or "hair" made of feathers.
✦ Hollow bones and increased lung capacity to assist with flight. This does make harpies more physically fragile/vulnerable to blunt damage than some other monsters.
✦ Sharper eyesight. Harpies have the best vision of any monsters in terms of distance and detail, while in daylight.
✦ Weakness to electricity. Lightning strikes are instantly fatal and electrical attacks are extra effective on harpies.
✦ Wind magic. Harpies can blast people with wind, create small tornados, and use wind bursts to move more quickly.
✦ Ability to predict weather patterns.
✦ The ability to mimic voices and throw their voice.
✧ OPTIONAL ✧
✦ Travel form. Harpies can take a mundane animal form to travel quickly and stealthily at the cost of being more vulnerable.
✦ Feathers on any other part of the body.
✦ Bird tail and other bird body features.
✦ Pointed ears.
✦ Weakness to air pollution/toxins.
✦ A soothing singing voice that can charm and lure humans.
✦ Homing instinct. Able to find their way "home," wherever that is, from anywhere else in the zone so long as they're able to fly.
✦ Nesting instinct. Harpies feel safest when able to make a shelter in a high place.
✦ A natural affinity for other languages, both learning them and in "hearing" them - harpies can identify those speaking other languages they may be familiar with even past the magical translation effect.
