LICH

Liches are undead creatures of death and decay.

✧ MANDATORY ✧
✦ Feeding: Energy and Scraps [via decay magic.] Liches can feed on life force directly or can decay all physical matter, but work best as leftovers disposal for physical matter other monsters cannot make use of. Can only feed when within a six-foot radius of their phylactery.
✦ Undead. This may manifest as a corpse body, partial or full skeletonization, ethereal or phantom form, or any combination.
✦ The lich's heart must be secured in a phylactery, whether that is physically placing their heart into a container or magically changing it into an object. Once created, a phylactery contains a lich's soul and life force. A phylactery can be any object no smaller than a thimble and no larger than a car, but regardless it is incredibly fragile.
✦ Damage to a lich's body cannot kill them - if their body is destroyed, they will regenerate from and at their phylactery, not counted as a true death. Liches feel pain when their phylactery is damaged and die when it is destroyed.
✦ Disconnected limbs and extremities. Some combination of the lich's head, arms hands, legs, and/or feet are detached from the main body. This can manifest as the absence or severing of the connecting joint, or by the connecting limb disappearing. Minimum of one but no upper limit. These disconnected limbs can be controlled within an area of the body equal to their pre-death height. Outside this range, they become unresponsive and must be manually retrieved. Exception is the head, which is responsive and animate regardless of distance from the body.
✦ Decay magic. Can decay and pollute by touch. On living human, monstrous or animal targets, this can be numbing or shutdown of sensation or senses, physical rot, and premature aging. They can also blight crops and pollute land and water, rust metal, rot wood, etc.

✧ OPTIONAL ✧
✦ Liches may retreat into and animate their phylactery. In this form they still have access to their decay magic, but the phylactery is still just as fragile.
✦ Liches may demanifest and reform at their phylactery once per day.
✦ May use animal bones in place of human in their body if desired.
✦ May be missing body parts entirely rather than simply having them disconnected from the whole.
✦ Animate armor. Liches may have the appearance of armor plating of any kind over or as their body as a visual affect only - this does not affect their physical defense. This can include a helmet or mask, which similarly does not hinder their ability to eat or talk if desired.
✦ Raiment. May have a garment as part of their body they can manipulate the same way they do their limbs. This can be a cowl, robe, cape, student uniform, etc. Only one raiment may be created at a time, and this costs a significant amount of magic.
✦ May float a short distance above the ground, especially if missing limbs or appendages to stand on. Cannot fly or move faster than a normal run, however.
✦ An obsessive personality.
